Little Goose Dam
Owner: U.S. Army Corps of Engineers - Walla Walla District
Services Rendered: Dam Modifications, Heavy Lifting & Rigging

Project Description

The first of two projects at Little Goose Dam, Advanced American Construction, Inc. (AAC) worked on an expedited timeline to fabricate, deliver, and install several new components to the dam. AAC provided two new weir towers and lifting beams, a closure gate, dogging beams, vent tubes, slot tubes, slot fillers and stop log. These comprised nearly 300,000 pounds of fabricated steel components. AAC partnered with Jesse Engineering in Tacoma, Washington, who fabricated the structural steel pieces. The steel pieces were shipped by truck from Tacoma to Vancouver, Washington, where they were loaded onto a barge with the largest mobile harbor crane in North America. The barge traveled 280-miles upriver to it's final destination, Little Goose Dam.
